The Hunter's Moon
A harvest ritual: name what you carried this far, and let the moon charge the water overnight.
What you need · How to do it
What you need
- A glass jar of water
- A small white candle
- Paper and pencil
- A pinch of salt
- A bay leaf
- Matches
How to do it
- Make a circle of salt around the candle.
- Light the candle. Breathe slowly three times.
- Write three things you carried this far this year.
- Write one word on the bay leaf: what you're ready to harvest.
- Read your list out loud. Say thank you after each line.
- Leave the jar and the leaf on a windowsill under the moon.
- Blow out the candle. In the morning, water a plant with the moon water.
Never leave a flame unattended.
